Sandra Kay Simpson, known as Sandy was born to Lillian Burns on February 22, 1950 in Pulaski County, Little Rock, Arkansas. She left this world at age 76 on May 1, 2026. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Ray Simpson, both resided at 1415 Cleveland Street, Texarkana, AR. She was also preceded by her mother, Lillian Nichols and her baby daughter, Leslie Danielle Simpson. She is survived by three children, Tina and Dickie Lindsey of Texarkana, AR., Terry and Melissa Simpson of Texarkana, AR., and Kristi and Glenn Roberts of Texarkana, TX; 12 grandchildren, Cody, Camron and Kyler Lindsey, Trinity, Dylan, Madison and Abigail Simpson, Mark Wayne Johnson, Dakota Komar, Sheridan Easley, Victoria Purvis and Cassi Roberts. She was also blessed with 16 great Grandchildren.
Sandy was the most loving, caring, and supportive person. She would give you her last dollar if she thought you needed anything, and of course every one that came to her house would be offered a Dr. Pepper. Dr. Pepper was the first thing she had to have. Sandy was a nurse at Hospice of Texarkana before she decided to give all her time to gardening and loving on all those grand babies. She loved watching things grow, plants, flowers, animals and especially her grandchildren. Family was her most prized possession. She supported her family in every way. She believed that all children were the greatest asset and told them many stories. She enjoyed playing with them from trampolines to swimming pools...anything that would make them smile or laugh. She also taught them to cook and enjoyed feeding them their favorites. If they were sad, she comforted them and taught them it was for a season and seasons change.
Sandy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We will never forget how deeply she loved and all the laughter she brought to us all. Rest easy and we will see you soon in Heaven where you are waiting with our sister who you never got to teach about love and our Daddy. We love you the mostest!
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at East Memorial Chapel, 602 Olive St, Texarkana, Texas, on Saturday May 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
