August 18, 1949 – June 16, 2013
Terri Ray Carter passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16th at the young age of 63 after a valiant but short battle with cancer.
Terri was born on August 18, 1949 and retired from the US Postal Service in 2009 after 31 years of dedication and service. She was loved and cherished by so many. She had so many beautiful qualities about her that it’s impossible to list them all. She had the ability to recognize and appreciate others and make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. She was a beautiful, caring woman who left behind a legacy of grace and honor. Her kind heart and beautiful smile allowed everything around her to shine. Her generous heart filled her home and the homes of others with love, compassion and respect. Her grandbabies were her life and she was theirs. She spent countless hours with them sharing her passion of painting and crafts and just loving them to pieces. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a gentle, caring and loyal woman, who cared unconditionally, gave without question and loved with all her heart! She was more than just our mother. She was our angel, our confidant, our very best friend and she will be missed more than words can ever express.
Terri is survived by her son, Jason Carter Dupree of Ashdown, AR, her daughter and son in law, Julie Jones and Brandin Franklin of Texarkana, TX, her 5 grandchildren, Austin Jones, Jacey Dupree, Gage Dupree, Tori Franklin and Jackson Franklin, her 2 sisters and brother in laws, Beth & Thomas White of Texarkana, TX and Kay and Hugh McWhorter of Lockesburg, AR, 2 brothers and sister in laws, David and Panda Carter of Texarkana, TX and Pat and Deborah Carter of DeKalb, TX and her precious "Ya Ya" sister Bonita Covert of Texarkana, TX as well as many other cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Friends and family will be having memorial tribute on Friday, June 28th at 2 pm at East Funeral Home – Moores Lane.
