I am so sorry to hear about David’s passing. He was a good man that loved the Lord and His people. I know that he loved his girls too-Shawn, Shelly, Angie, Maggie and Toni. I have many, many fond memories of him that include hunting, fishing, discussing Gods Word and His church, mission trips and good food. I remember the first time I met him in Lubbock, TX and the last time we talked which was an “accidental” phone call. I learned a lot from him about God and His creation including young people. He was a blessing to me, my family and so many others. I’m having a flood of vivid memories that include so many talks and activities. God bless you in the coming days. I miss you and love you. You are constantly in my prayers. I am very thankful to have known him and you.

There are too many memories to pick just one. He will always be larger than life to me. He did his best to lead all of the Walnut Street teenagers in the right direction. And he always made sure we had the best time!! I loved him and I will sure miss him. David was always there to encourage, teach, and sometimes even fuss at me when I needed it. It always came from a place of love and I adored him for it. Praying for his family now.

He always seems so happy in his hunting cabin. We spent many nights over the years discussing the Bible and talking about the Lord and him, teaching me the ways of the Lord and the ways of the wooods.

Brother Smith was my spiritual teacher ,my pastor. He was like my father and my brother, but most of all he was my friend. 
I will miss him so so so very much. But I know he is happy now with the Lord. I remember him telling me not so long ago that when he passes, it would be OK with him because he said “All is well with my soul”

Brother Smith loved to cook.  Many days he would take a slice of the tenderloin that I would bring and eggs and just sit down and eat and relax and talk about how wonderful it was that the Lord bless us with such a nice camp too see the Lord‘s wonders.

I'm sorry for our loss but Heaven just got one of the best angels. He's up there getting things ready for the rest of us to join him one day, until then he will watch over us with a smile. I had the joy and privilege of knowing and working with him for many years. He was more than a friend and co-worker, David became like a dad to me.  Just know Shawn he is always with you and the kids as well.

I didn’t know David until my husband died. David was the 1st person to show up at my door. He was so helpful to me. He told me what to expect. He is a wonderful Christian man and cares so much for people.

My greatest memory of David was when he and I was in charge of the service at church . He , of course, preached and I tried to lead singing. Some would say it was like hearing Billy Graham and Bill Gaither. But all the other things are to many to mention but centered around my girls, Laura and Jennifer !  I’m sure I didn’t get the whole truth!!

David was a shining light to all who knew him. He was so many things to so many people but most of all he was a loving husband, father and son. I know the angels are rejoicing in heaven at his arrival.
