Having met Aunt Aletha for a short duration during my adolescence, I recall she was a vitalic personality. Aletha definetly exhibited an exuberance and zest for life.

Having spent every Monday, Wednesday and Friday with Aletha for about 7 years, I feel I can attest to her tender heart. She was a woman of compassion and strong sense of justice. I am having a difficult time imagining this world without her. I am sorry for your pain, Mark, Caroldean and Allen. I pray for comfort, peace and sweet memories. Blessings,

Her passing is a loss to Houston's bridge world and a gain for those already in Heaven who have already welcomed her. She fought that dreaded cancer so valiantly--just as she played a hand of bridge. My prayers for her family.

So sad to hear of the loss of my aunt, who unfortunately I had lost touch.  My sympathy to her children, my cousins.

I considered Aletha to be the Grand Dame of the bridge club.  She brightened up the place.  It was a pleasure to play against her, even though she usually outwitted me.  Her family is fortunate to have such a remarkable person as their relative.

 Very sorry about your loss, i remember your mom as a very beautiful lady and a very special person. My heart and sympathy goes out to you Mark &Caroldean.

Jeannie and I have fond memories during our visit with Uncle Alfred(Buddy) and Aunt Aletha in Washington.  She was a kind and hospitable individual.  She inspired us tremendously with her spirit of love and aloha.  We offer our condolences and prayers.

Aletha was a bridge wizard. And she changed our lives through the game she loved.

Aletha was one of the strongest people I knew.  She fought long and hard against the terrible disease. May she rest in peace.

Mark & Caroldene: Your mother was a most extraordinary person.  Well loved and respected by all that knew her. She attained her goals through perserverence. She did good.  In her final days she reached out to us and gave up some of her energy to help me. We loved your mother and miss her . Uncle Doug and Aunt Rita Cahill.

Farewell to a great bridge player, and one classy lady.  You will be missed.

It was a privilege to have known Aletha.   She was a great Bridge player.  When I was a beginner, she was gracious enough to play with me some, and I will always remember that.    She will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Aletha's passing.  She was such a dear lady.

Aunt Aletha was a great lady that lived her life to the fullest.

Aletha was very pleasant and gracious at the bridge table.  She was always friendly and I loved her smile.  The Bridge Club lost a treasured member.  She will be missed for a long, long time.. I wish I had known her better.

years ago. I always referred to her as
"Sarge" and she got such a kick out of that.   She certainly fought the good fight with her disease.

Aunt Aletha was a wonderful classy woman.  Always a positive outlook on life.  She looked for the best in everyone & always welcomed them into her world.  I will miss her dearly.

Aletha tried to help everyone she met.  She made a point of remembering everyone's name.  She wanted to be remembered as a good Jo, and she was.  I sorely miss her
