Alexander Mathew Meraz was born in Houston on March 11, 1997 to Rodolfo and Jolynn Meraz. Alex was the twin of Adrian, and brother to Haleigh and Marissa Meraz. He lived in The Woodlands the majority of his life where he attended school.
He passed suddenly on January 22, 2021 from what we assume was an accidental overdose. Unfortunately, Alex struggled on and off with his mental health; struggling with depression and addiction. At times we believed he would win his battle but that was not to be. He was tired.
He is a beautiful, silly, kind hearted boy. He loved music, cars, and spending time with friends and family. He carried his pain and the pain of others in his huge, soft heart.
He is now at peace, he can sleep, not be paranoid or afraid. This is not “goodbye”, it is “I will see you soon”. We will love you forever and always.
“I gave birth to you. I loved you first. I love you still. I always have and always will.” – Your mom
He is proceeded in death by his Grandfather, Joseph G. Santini.
He is survived by his loving parents and siblings mentioned above, his grandparents Rodolfo and Maria Meraz, Grandmother Juanita Hernandez, Aunts and Uncles Albert and Lety Meraz, Joanne and Tim Franklin, Hector Homer Santini, Cindy and Robert Gonzalez, Belinda Diaz, Ramona and Irvin Aguayo, Bryan and Nancy Meraz, and Chris and Isabel Hernandez. He is also survived by many cousins including Alan, Ashley, Joe, Morgan, Melanie, Sarah, Hugo, Joshua, Natalie, Janey, Miranda, Blake, Karsen, Amber, Bianca, Gabriella, Darian, Juan, Alex, Emily, Eva, and Olivia, and Godparents James and Theresa Barlow.
