She was born in Midway on April 18, 1923. Bessie graduated from Milby High School and continued on to receive a degree from Pasadena Business School.
She was married to MacArthur Williams on June 29, 1940.
Bessie had a career in auditing and allied banking for Joske’s where she was a personal relations director. She was a member of North Oaks Baptist Church, Faith Fellowship, and Northside Christian. She considered herself a servant of the Lord and loved to help others.
Bessie was preceded in death by her brothers; J. W. Gibson, G.C. Gibson, D.C. “Jack” Gibson, Elvis “Reo” Gibson, sisters; Mary Gibson Ratcliff and Hazel Graham.
Bessie is survived by her husband of 76 years, 5 months and 2 days, daughter Janiece Summers, step-grandchildren; Donald Summers wife Pat, Laura Sheppard husband Clivo, grandchildren; Shawn Summers wife Denise, great- grandchildren; Taylor Summers and Devin Summers, step-grandchildren; Donald Summers, Jr.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 11:00a.m., December 14, 2016, at North Oak Baptist Church, at 18411 Stuebner Airline Rd., Spring, TX 77379.
