Caroline Dull Hamburger, 75, mother and beloved friend to many, of Stuart, FL and Chicago, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at home in The Woodlands, TX. She was peaceful in her final days and surrounded by loving family. She was born June 13, 1945 in Celina, Ohio to the late Earl Dull and Mary Romer.
She is survived by her sons, Peter Hamburger and wife Anna of Chicago, IL, and John Hamburger and fiancée Stephany of The Woodlands, TX; brother Jonathan Dull of New Haven, CT; niece Veronica Lamka of Helena, MT; nephew Rob Dull of San Francisco, CA; as well as by her dear Charles Pettit of London.
Caroline's greatest joys were her sons, Peter and John, as well as traveling the world, furry creatures of all kinds and Notre Dame football. Caroline started her adventure across the globe when she moved to Europe at the age of 25. She lived in France and Italy, and then London for 37 years, before settling in Stuart, FL, acquiring countless dear friends and five languages along the way. She was a wonderful cook and passed an enduring love of great food to her sons, along with her cherished collection of recipes acquired through a lifetime of travel and enjoying laughter-filled meals with friends.
A virtual memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 1pm CT, via Zoom. Service details to be distributed via email, and is to be presided over by Father Paul Doyle, of The University of Notre Dame.
