Charles graduated from Marshall Academy in Holly Springs, Mississippi in 1976. He went on to attend The University of Mississippi, where he earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. During his time at Ole Miss, Charles became a proud member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. It was there that he met his lifelong best friend and brother in spirit, George Drewry—a bond that would remain strong throughout his life.
Charles had a curious mind and an adventurous spirit. His professional journey reflected this as he explored various fields with determination and integrity. He began his career at Continental Laboratories as an Analytical Technician and later advanced to Field Unit Manager. In 1985, he became Partner and Owner of The Drilling & Technology Company. Two years later, he transitioned to serve as Director of Safety at The Mudlogging Company.
Despite these accomplishments, Charles felt called to something more meaningful, something that allowed him to serve others directly. In 1990, answering that call, he became a paramedic for AMR. This role brought him immense fulfillment as he dedicated himself to helping people in their most vulnerable moments. He remained with AMR until his retirement.
Beyond his professional life, Charles was deeply involved in community and faith-based organizations. A Mason for over 24 years, he served as Past Master of Northwest Lodge #1434 and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, and Arabia Shriners. Among his favorite activities with the Shriners was driving in parades with The Hot Rod guys —bringing laughter to children along the route.
In recent years, Charles found renewed strength in his faith. As a devoted member of Faithbridge Church’s prayer team, he took great joy in praying over the sanctuary and each chair before services began—a quiet but powerful testament to his spiritual devotion.
Charles cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his sister Mary Janet Paschal; daughters Dixie Gandee and her husband Brad Gandee, and Rachel Johnson; nephews William Hood and Christopher Hood; and grandchildren Chance, Krystin, Cadence, and Hayden. Caring fiancé Brenda Wilkinson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Julie Ann Paschal; mother Antoinette Abernathy Paschal; father Walter Raymond Paschal; and sister Jacqueline Paschal.
A man who lived by the principles of “God, Guns and Country,” Charles will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to service—whether through emergency response work or community involvement—and for the love he shared with those around him.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A funeral service with masonic rites for Charles will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384, followed by a committal service from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.
