The photos really brought back some great memories. I will always remember Uncle Dave as an intelligent, kind, curious and loving Uncle, Father and Brother. You are all in my thoughts and prayers,

Dear Cousins and Family, 

The photos bring back wonderful memories of outings with Dave.  Cruising the Mississippi on one of his many boats was always a thrill, especially on his last boat, a fancy Chris Craft launch.  Thinking back on those excursions, I realize how much work it was lugging four or five unruly kids on an outing.  How he managed to keep us all from going overboard is a mystery. 

The story of Dave and the chocolate bunny will be reminisced at every Wente Easter Dinner.  We all have vivid memories of Dave delivering a large Fanny Farmer chocolate bunny every Easter. It was spectacular two-foot tall bunny just begging to be eaten. Mom tried to keep our hands off it, but was never successful.  The bunny made it to Easter Dinner missing its tail, a foot, ear, or any other piece that was easy to detach...and it was all good.

Thank you Dave for all the wonderful memories!

I loved the photos of Uncle Dave, what a wonderful full life. My older siblings certainly enjoyed  all of the boat outings on the Mississippi .   I was younger but remembered the huge chocolate bunny he'd bring for us at Easter time- what a crowd pleaser that 
was!

Uncle Dave was a warm and loving presence to all his nieces and nephews in Rochester, MN as we grew up.  We kept him busy entertaining him and delighted in his very romantic courtship and marriage to Gloria.  We knew how much his loved his children and their families!
