David Wilson Rauscher was born to Elizabeth and Brenton Rauscher on July 30, 1950 in Rochester, New York; he was the second of five children. During high school, he met the love of his life, Connie Prieto, and they married on September 6, 1969. They had been married almost four years when they had their first child, Chad, on February 22, 1973. Their daughter, Tammy, arrived on April 2, 1977. David entered the Houston Fire Department in 1974, where he proudly served and protected the residents of Houston, Texas for 39 years before retiring in 2013.
David left to be with the Lord on May 8, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Brenton Rauscher, and his sister, Gloria Rauscher. He is survived by his wife, Connie Rauscher; his children, Chad Rauscher and wife, Amber; and Tammy Ramirez and husband, Nick; four grandchildren, Reuben, Karissa, Ashlyn and Christopher; siblings, Shirley Krieger, Terry Rauscher and Patti Jeschke; and numerous cousins and friends.
While he was a jokester and often teased, all those who knew David can attest that he never met a stranger and would give others the shirt off his back. He cared greatly for other people and had such a big heart. David will be missed greatly.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at Faith United Methodist Church, located at 2403 Rayford Road, Spring, Texas 77386, followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Forest Park-The Woodlands Cemetery in The Woodlands, Texas immediately following services.
