

Diana Mitchell Kitchens, 85, of Spring, TX, passed away March 2, 2021. She was born in Laredo, TX on December 27, 1935. She was married to John D. Mitchell, II until his death at the age of 34. She married Clyde Kitchens many years later. He passed away five years ago.
Diana attended Ursuline Academy for the first 12 years of her education. As a student, she learned to play piano and guitar. Often leading groups of singing in her poodle skirt. She started her career working with her husband, John D. Mitchell, II at Mitchell’s Foreign Car Dealership in Laredo, TX. After his death she closed the business. She had a career in fashion and bookkeeping. Her last job before retiring was where she met her husband, Clyde. They worked together at Ethylene Gulf Coast Corporation (EGC) for almost ten years.
Diana was devoted and loyal in service to our Lord Jesus as a Spirit-filled Christian. She was instrumental in starting ministries in the church. She helped to start a food pantry ministry, a nursery crib and supplies ministry, and was often ready to help out at the church whenever something was needed. She taught classes for the Junior High Students and Young Adults. She led prayer meetings for many years in her home. Diana had a heart for those in need and worked to serve others in all areas of her life. She always considered it a privilege to serve and disciple others along with helping churches grow.
Her hobbies were Needle Point, Cooking, Gardening and Crocheting. Her hobbies were only secondary to her love for Jesus, learning more about Him and loving her family.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Ishee (Curtiss), John D. Mitchell, III (Vickie), Lynn Canales (Rick), Margaret Jackson (Bradford), and Mike Lessing; her grandchildren, Jennifer Garza (Kevin), Joey Ishee (Amanda), Amanda Barajas (Michael), Ashley Mitchell, Danielle Mitchell, David Lessing (Jana), Candra Henriquez (Jason), Ethan Jackson, and Lauren Jackson; great-grandchildren, Kylie Ishee, Gabriela Garza, Curtiss Ishee III, Grady Ishee, Benjamin Luke Ishee, Marcus Barajas, Erik Barajas, Eli Mitchell, Ava Martinez, Evan Henriquez, Maddox Henriquez, Charlotte Henriquez, Leah Lessing, and Cael Lessing; sister, Dora Massey; and brother Joe Sanchez.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John D. Mitchell, II; husband, Clyde Carroll Kitchens; her mother, Herminia Lopez de Sanchez; father, Jose Maria Sanchez; and sister, Laura Martinez
A funeral service will be held in the main chapel at Forest Park the Woodlands, 18000 I 45 S, The Woodlands on Friday, March 12 at 1PM with visitation beginning at 11:30AM.
