Dudley Jule Schmid, age 83, of The Woodlands, Texas passed away with his family by his side on Monday July 8, 2019. Dudley was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on August 1, 1935 to Dudley C. and Helen Schmid.
Dudley graduated from Leavenworth High School and received a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Kansas.
He was married to Virginia Lea Winger on December 16, 1965. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Dudley had a career in the gas pipeline industry as Director of Engineering for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company, Vice-President of Centana Energy, as well as Vice-President of Energy Pipelines International Company. He had a passion for golf, exercise, movies, reading, music, driving his sports-car, and watching KU Jayhawks Basketball.
He volunteered his time to Habitat for Humanity, and marshalled Junior Golf tournaments in Williamsburg, VA and The Woodlands TPC Golf Course. He also dearly loved the many dogs he had in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Charles Schmid.
Dudley is survived by his wife, Virginia; son, John Keith Winger and daughter-in-law Jennie, son, Charles Edward Winger; grandchildren, Sarah Jane Winger, Benjamin Charles Winger, Jessica Lea Winger; and great-grandson, Hunter Shane McBryde.
A memorial service for Dudley will be held Friday, July 12, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, 77384. A reception will follow immediately after service.
