Eric Edward Polnaszek, 64, passed away July 27, 2010, at his home in Conroe, Texas. He was born June 24, 1946, in Cudahay, Wisc., to the late Edward and Charlotte Polnaszek. Eric is also preceded in death by his brother David Polnaszek and nephew Ryan Galarowicz. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cheryl Polnaszek; daughters Amy Johnson and husband Christopher, Alissa Greer and Wendy Gonchar and husband Jason; grandchildren Chase, Bryce and Jordan Johnson, Kayla, Teryn and Damon Greer, Taylor and Sydney Gonchar; sisters Carol Stasila and husband Bill and Melanie Galarowicz and husband Joe; brothers Charles Polnaszek and wife Jennifer and Perry Polnaszek and wife Andrea; father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold and Pauline Krueger; brothers-in-law Bill Krueger and wife Toni and Tracy Krueger and wife Cele.
Eric attended the U.S. Air Force Academy for 2 years before serving in the U.S. Air Force, and was honorably discharged in 1970. He served as an officer, coach and advisor for the J.U.S.A. soccer organization, taught C.C.D. classes for several years at St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of Knights of Columbus all in Placentia, Calif. After retiring from Raytheon Systems in June 2009, Cheryl and Eric moved to The Woodlands, Texas where he attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Funeral Services are set for 3:00 P.M., Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9191 Cochran’s Crossing, The Woodlands, Texas 77381. Interment will follow in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, July 30, 2010 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home.
