

Florence Finch Dearman, 87, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on October 16, 2014. She was born on May 22, 1927 to Tom and Thelma Jones. When asked for the highlight of her life, she cited her baptism in Christ at the age of 11. Always nurturing and wanting to serve others, Florence joined the Nurse Cadet Corp in 1945, graduating in 1948. She served as a nurse at Hermann Hospital, Heights Hospital, Saint Joseph Hospital, and finally as a school nurse at in the Aldine ISD for 27 years. She married Jimmie Kenneth Finch on March 11, 1948. Jimmie died on June 11, 1994. She married Edward Clarence Dearman on December 28, 1998. Edward died on November 28, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her sister Wynona Sybesma, her brother Robert (Bob) Jones, and her daughter-in-law Patricia (Patty) Finch. Florence leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister and brother-in-law, Patsy & Jay Boos; her precious niece, nephews, and cousins; son Ron Finch; daughter and son-in-law Jamie and George Horn; step-daughter and husband Mary and Rick Hoisington; grandchildren Tracy (Kim) Bratton, April Sangster, Andy Slonaker, Christina (Kristopher) Reaves, Amy (Chase) Cobb, Breanna (Matthew) Dunk, and John Finch; and great-grandchildren Amanda Bratton, Damion Sangster, Chase Bratton, Ava Bratton, Nicholas Slonaker, Nora Reaves, and Claire Reaves. Throughout her entire adult life, Florence served her Lord and her fellow man steadfastly and with humility. She was an active volunteer in the Church as Bible teacher, organ player, youth director, and facilitator of countless fellowships and works for her fellow saints and her community. With her service and love, she touched the hearts of all who knew her.
The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 3pm until 7pm at Forest Park The Woodlands, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, TX. Funeral Services are at the same location on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10am. Following the service, we will proceed to Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N Main St, Houston, TX 77009.
