

Gerald Winston Anderson, born September 18, 1923, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2013. Gerald is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Jo Cleveland Anderson, four children, Charles W. Anderson, Jo Lynette Medeiros, Patricia Ann Franek, Martha Kay Langston and sister, Katharine Scott. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Gerald graduated from Trinity High School where he met his beautiful wife Mary Jo. The high school sweethearts married June 10, 1944. He also proudly served his country for the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Chiron (AGP 18) as a boiler mate furnishing fresh water for his ship.
When Gerald returned home from service, he went to work for J. Weingarten, Inc. where he served 41 years. Gerald worked his way up from butcher to Meat Merchandiser and Director for meat operations over 113 stores throughout Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. He loved his work and took pride in it.
Gerald loved to be outdoors, whether it be creating in his woodshop or fine-tuning his immaculate lawn. He had a passion for hunting and fishing which was shared with his son and grandsons. But Gerald’s greatest love was his family. Remembered as a loving, understanding and kind man, Gerald will truly be missed by all that came to know him.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 6 to 8 in the evening in the Manolia Room of Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. His funeral will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10 am at Oakridge Baptist Church 26569 Hanna Rd, Conroe TX 77385. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity Texas.
