
peacefully on November 5, 2021 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by husband
Richard H. Love and parents Rev. Harold Evers Olson and Virginia Ellen Brittenham Olson.
Gerry attended Palatine High School where she was the piano accompanist for the school choir,
played oboe in the band and became treasurer for the Pep Club. She graduated in 1956 and
moved to Carlinville, IL where she attended Blackburn College and received her degree in
elementary education. During her time at Blackburn, Gerry was piano accompanist for the choir
and organist for the college chapel. Following graduation, she became a first and second grade
teacher at Talala Elementary School in Park Forest. On June 30, 1962, Gerry and Richard Love
were married in Rochelle, IL. They moved to Augsburg, Germany for Richard’s service in the
Army where their daughter Julie was born in 1963. Upon returning to Chicago Heights, they
became owners of an art gallery, the first of many in Chicago and the surrounding area. During
their 40 years in business, Gerry also continued to play the organ for Christian Science churches
in Crown Point and Valparaiso, IN and Seventeenth Church in Chicago. In 2019, she moved to
The Woodlands, TX to be near her daughter Jayce and family.
Gerry enjoyed travel, adventures, and exciting life experiences with her husband and family.
The core of her life revolved around Christian faith, family, music, art and writing.
Her generosity and support was extended to all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed
gardening and stitching, reading and crafting. She was inspired by nature and beauty and her
loving spirit is reflected in her many close relationships with family and friends.
Gerry is survived by her daughters, Julie Love Errichiello and husband Dennis Errichiello, Jayce
Love and husband Ray Birch; grandchildren Chapman Hosier and his wife Madison Sarvis Hosier,
Grayce Hosier, Dylan Kazanova, Sayde Kazanova, Ryder Kazanova, and Caroline Birch; sister
Mary Olson Duerr and numerous cousins and extended family.
Memorial Service will be on Friday, December 3, 2021 at The Woodlands United Methodist
Church, 2200 Lake Woodlands Dr. The Woodlands, TX 77380 at 11:00 a.m. in Robb Chapel with
Rev. Joy Johnston officiating. Immediately following the service will be a reception in Jones Hall
where family will receive friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project at
