

Henrietta “Henrie” Carmen Anderson Hiott, 91, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital – The Woodlands. Born to Juan Díaz and Concepción Lara, Henrie lived a life defined by resilience, faith, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Raised at St. Joseph Orphan Girls Home in Kansas City, Missouri, Henrie formed lifelong bonds that sustained her throughout her life, including her cherished friendship with Carmen Hernandez Burnett. She also remained close to dear friends Joanne Naughton and Annette Combast. These early connections, along with her steadfast spirit, shaped the grace and strength she carried into every chapter of her life.
Henrie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and treasured grandmother. A master seamstress and gifted upholsterer, she delighted in creating beautiful things with her hands. She enjoyed ballroom and square dancing, traveling the world, and spending time with family and friends. Her Catholic faith was central to her life, and she served her church community faithfully through the St. Vincent de Paul Society and CASA. She also found joy in golfing, singing, reading, playing games, and cheering on her favorite professional sports teams.
Henrie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Lorence L. Anderson; her parents; her sisters, Alice O’Bryan Umphress and Gloria Lupkey; and Richard L. Anderson and Michael Randolph.
She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, James Hiott; her children Lorence L. Anderson Jr. (Susie), Thomas J. Anderson (Laurine), and David Abramson (Debbie); and her stepdaughters Sherry Gates (Tracy), Christy Irby, and Kimberely Zech (Neil).
Henrie was a proud grandmother to Sandi Meehan (Tom), Travis Anderson (Michell Vargas), Cherylyn Torres (Daniel), Samantha Anderson, Cheyenne Anderson, Cherie Anderson, Jack Anderson, and Alex Anderson. She was blessed with great grandchildren Julia Meehan, Kelsey Meehan, Cullen Meehan, Hailey Tomasik, Noah Torres, Xavier Torres, Audri Cooper, Chanel Smith, and Birklee Smith, along with many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plantersville, Texas, officiated by Father Ed Kucera Jr. on Wednesday March 25, 2026 at 10:30 AM. A catered reception will be provided immediately afterwards.
Burial will follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery in The Woodlands, Texas on the same day at 3:00 PM.
Henrie will be remembered for her strength, faith, creativity, and the deep loyalty she offered to all who knew her. Her family and friends will forever cherish the steady, loving presence she brought into their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her honor to the Lupus Foundation of America, supporting the fight against lupus and helping others facing the disease.
