Jim was born on August 13, 1939, in CenterView, Texas, to James Preston English and Winnie Parker English.
On May 5, 1957, Jim married Ernestine Peyton English, beginning a marriage grounded in commitment and shared life experience. He built a steady career in chrome plating, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic and hands-on skill.
Outside of work, Jim found joy in bird watching and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine English; his children, Tina English and Terry (Kent) Shumaker; his grandchildren, Brandy (Rick) Tucker, Erin Alexander, and Lindsey (Ely) Dorantes; and his great-grandchildren, Rafael and Olivia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Preston English and Winnie Parker English; his brothers, Henry, Sydney, Royce, Walter, and Herman English; his sister Verna; and his grandson, Justin Griffin.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery in the Magnolia room, located at 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384, on February 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
A graveside service will follow at Forest Park - The Woodlands Cemetery, located at 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodland, TX 77384, on February 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
