She was born July 19, 1935 in Forest City Iowa to Hans and Ruth Holtan. She leaves behind three sons Tim, Scott, and Greg, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many other friends and family.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, brother David and sister Mary.
Raised in Forest City, Iowa she married Alan Anderson on August 18, 1953 and started a life that took her to many different parts of the country. In Michigan, she gave birth to their sons. She was a devout Christian and Member of Chestnut Presbyterian Church
while living in Georgia where she and Alan helped church families in need. While in Milwaukee, Wisconsin she worked with Junior Achievement.
Karen grew up on her family's' farm in Iowa and enjoyed supporting young people.
A memorial service will be held on March 7, 2026, at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384. The service will take place in the Grand Hall from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Following the memorial service, a catered reception will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the R.L. Wood room at the same venue.
