Laura Lentz, 67, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her home on October 28, 2011 after battling cancer. Laura was born on July 11, 1944 in Chicago, IL and spent her childhood years in Bristol, WI attending (Salem) Central High School. She married her high school sweetheart, John William Lentz Sr. in 1966 and devoted her life to him, their two children and her Christian faith. While raising her children, she worked as a math and science tutor at Adlai Stevenson High School, IL. After they were grown, she moved with her husband to The Woodlands, TX where she worked as a Customer Care Specialist for Hewitt Associates. Even in her professional life, she was always helping others. She enjoyed many things including gardening, knitting, crafts, reading, crossword puzzles, sports, and most of all, her family. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, The Woodlands, TX. She will be missed by her husband, John William Lentz Sr., her son John William Lentz Jr., her daughter Dr. Jennifer Jean Lentz, her grand-daughter, her brothers Ronald and Fred Altergott, her sisters Dorothy and Esther Altergott, and the many members of her extended family and friends whose lives she touched so dearly. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Fred and Dorothy Altergott, her in-laws Frederick and Elvira Lentz, and her brother-in-law Frederick Lentz and sister-in-law Jennifer Lentz. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in the The Woodlands, TX.
