Luise married Harry Edmond Long on February 6, 1952 and became the Matriarch of the Long Family when Harry preceded her in death on December 6, 1999.
The Long legacy includes her surviving four (4) daughters: Janet Long; Kathy & husband Steven Sowell; Luise & husband William Bird; Monet & husband Robert Snyder; her four (7) Grandchildren: Alexander and wife Tiffany Long; Hunter and wife Nadine Long; Jessica and husband Jaeson Longday; and Veronica Kleman; Christine & husband Kurt Linnenkamp; Kelly Snyder; and Ginessa and husband Cody McFarlin; and her great grandchildren: Logan and Gavin Long; Spencer and Charles Long; & Luise, Johanna, and Christiane Longday.
Luise courageously traveled to American at a young age, but she never forgot the family she left behind: her Mother, Luise (Gebauer) Schomberg (deceased) and 3 younger sisters: Johanna, Alexandra (deceased), and Christiane; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to being rich in family, Luise loved singing and playing the hand bells at church. She was so proud of becoming an American citizen, even celebrating her 50th anniversary with a spectacular party.
