Known for her beauty, Marjorie Ellen Clark, née Campbell, was born October 4, 1926 in Hollywood, California. Marjorie passed away at home on February 20, 2024 in The Woodlands, Texas, at the age of 97. Comfortable and peaceful, she was surrounded by her daughter Diane, son-in-law Gregory, grandson Joseph, and granddaughter and namesake Marjorie Ellen. This was a fitting bookend to a long and fulfilling life surrounded by those she loved, and in turn who loved her dearly.
Marjorie Ellen Campbell and Naval Captain William John Clark were married post-WWII, in 1947 at St. Mary’s Church in Rutherford, New Jersey. Marjorie devoted her life to her family, and rose to the challenge of raising three daughters amidst many military transfers. In her later years, Marjorie served as a doting and ever-present matriarch. Lovingly known to all as “Nana,” her holiday feasts were legendary!
Marjorie was preceded in death by: Captain William John Clark, her husband of 58 years; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Horr Campbell; and her siblings Patricia (Alfred) Knutstad, Mary (Lawrence) Campbell Kenny, and Joann Campbell Gustafson. Marjorie is survived by her brother John Campbell; daughters Alison Clark, Diane (Gregory) Ferrone, and Elaine (Craig) Cook; grandchildren Cristinna (Joseph) Gebbia, Bryan Cook, Gerald Clark, Joseph (Caroline) Ferrone, and Marjorie Ellen Ferrone; and great-grandchildren Gage Gebbia and Veronica Ferrone.
Marjorie elected to lay her ashes to rest with her husband at Houston National Cemetery, and host a private memorial at a later date to celebrate her life.
