Mark was born April 23, 1948 in Savannah, GA., the son of Billie Muriel English and Lewis MacLaurine Williams MD.
He graduated in 1970 with a BS in Applied Music from Lamar Institute of Technology (now Lamar University). He performed professionally during the 1960's with "The Soul Counts" in Galveston as well as all over southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana. Mark enjoyed teaching as a band director in Cleveland, TX. and as conductor for his LDS congregation. He excelled as a Houston Master electrician and worked as an electrical designer and project manager. Mark also taught first year apprentices and the Master Electrician’s classes at the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) through Houston Community College.
Surviving him are his wife of 34 years, Lynn Logsdon Williams; son, Matthew McLaurine Williams, and wife, Erin Williams, and grandson, Asher Vail Williams; daughter, Elizabeth Jeanne "Beth" Ketrick, her husband, Brian Ketrick, and grandsons, Jack Alden Ketrick and Charles Michael Ketrick. Preceding him in death was a daughter, Caitlin Magee Williams.
Also surviving are four sisters, Charlotte Eaves Wishard, Laurin Morgan and husband, Robert Greb, Randy McGowan, and Nancy Lewise Newsom and her husband, Richard Newsom, step-mother, Patricia Williams and step-brother, Richard Williams of Beaumont.
A memorial service will be Saturday August 27th at 1:00 pm at the Glen Loch Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 27707 Glen Loch Dr. The Woodlands, TX.
