To Maria, Elsa, Antony.  Lilly, and grandchildren. Jessie was a wonderful person and I know all four of my children loved him as an uncle. It is so sad and please accept our condolences to you all. We all have been very fond of Jessie and he will sadly be missed but we have memories of him. I know my boys, when young like to go into his garden with him getting rid of the snakes, whilst I was panicking inside. Your dad would laugh at me. Some of my favorite memories are from sitting around the dinner table, listening to his stories from work. He was generous to a fault truly the kind of man who would give you his last dime and at times he did, because I would here my parents arguing about it. And yes, sometimes he made promises he couldn’t keep but only because he so deeply wanted to help everyone who came to him. His generosity came from the purest part of his heart.
Every time he told me he loved me or that he was proud of me, I felt like I could do anything. His words gave me strength.
I’ll never forget the day I brought Antony home to meet my parents. My father was overjoyed. He told me, “He’s a great guy don’t mess it up. He’s everything I ever wanted for you.” And when I told him Antony had asked me to marry him, he was thrilled and said ‘you better have said YES!’ Over the years, he didn’t just accept Antony he loved him like a third son. He was genuinely proud of him, of the man he is and all he accomplished. Antony felt the same way — he loved my father dearly. So did his parents, and even his extended family in England. My father-in-law affectionately called him his ‘compadre’

I stand before you today with a heavy heart, trying to come to terms with the reality of saying goodbye to my father something that feels almost impossible. In many ways, it feels like we began saying goodbye long ago, as we watched his health and mind slowly decline. Yet even through those challenges, he remained strong. He fought with quiet courage and stayed with us for years longer than we ever expected. I believe God finally said, "Enough come home."
What brings me some comfort is knowing that, in his final weeks, he was surrounded by the people who meant the most to him — his children, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. He recognized and remembered each of them, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
Some of my most cherished memories of my father are of how affectionate and loving he was. He had a way of making everyone feel special often through his silly, unique nicknames, which I now realize were his own way of saying “I love you.” He truly was a lovable person.
After I left home every time I visited, it seemed like there was always someone new young or old dropping in just to see him, to introduce their family, or to sit and talk. People were drawn to him, and they always had something good and genuine to say. He left a mark on everyone he met.
He was incredibly hardworking and passionate about his profession/job. Even when he was sick or just not feeling well, he went to work. I remember my sister Marissa saying, “This kind of man is a dying breed. They don’t make them like this anymore.” She was right.
I always wanted to make him proud to show him that whatever success I achieved was because of the values he and my mother instilled in us, to work hard, never give up, and push through no matter what.

I have many memories with Grandpa, from the candy runs to donut shops.    He was an influence on the interests in my life through movies and stories; Grandpa always brought the character to life and making the simplest of tales to grand adventures. Whether watching a western or ttalking about the past, he sparked my imagination and the way I view the world. I am fortunate and grateful that I was able to have Grandpa in my life and experience his love growing up. One of the memories that I cherish is when Grandpa surprised me after school and took me to conroe for the weekend because I had kept asking my mom to go, I must of been in 2nd grade. Reflecting on this it is fair to say that my Umpa was always there for me regardless of the distance and showed me a kind of love that was selfless and full of heart. I will always remeber Grandpa for the love he showed me and the things he did for me.

Uncle Jesse, 

From our first meeting as an adult I felt so welcomed into your home. Uncle J. literally grabbed me and squeezed me while pulling me into the house. Then I got the pleasure of meeting all the rest of his family, especially aunt Lupe and all my cousins. I shared some of the best memories with him before, but I will and have always had a tremendous appreciation for all the love and support that he provided and the opportunity you all gave me to be part of your family. RIP Uncle J.

There are so many memories I could share about Grandpa, but one that always brings a smile to my face is the day we tried to get him to stop smoking. It was me, Grandma, Lily, and Mark—we were all huddled together, trying to decide who was brave enough to take his cigarettes. Lily and Mark kept going back and forth, neither one ready to make a move. So, I said, “Alright, I’ll do it,” and reached right into his pocket to grab them.

Let me tell you—I have never seen Grandpa move so fast in my life! He came after me with his cane, determined to get those cigarettes back. And he did. I handed them right over and never tried that again!

What I wouldn’t give for one more day on the back porch with him—just sitting there while he smoked, sharing stories, and laughing that unforgettable laugh. Those were the simple, beautiful moments I’ll hold onto forever. Grandpa was truly one of a kind, and he’ll always have a special place in my heart. Love - Cecilia your "Cici Rider"

My favorite memory with Grandpa isn’t really something we did together—it was just a moment I saw him happy.

On my 17th birthday, Grandma and Grandpa came over to celebrate. Lily, Ashley and the girls came too. Later that day, Sofia started singing Let It Go (frozen movie), and I looked over and saw Grandpa smiling. He looked so genuinely happy. I’m really glad I recorded that moment.
 I’ll always remember how he looked when he smiled like that.

I love you, Grandpa.

I have a story about my grandpa I remember that he would occasionally use me as a cane, whether it was to help him come back inside or to go to the backyard. In loving memory of my grandfather from Anthony Alvarez. My fondest memory of my grandfather would be our fishing trips as a young boy with my cousin Mark and my sisters. My grandfather was my first father figure in my life as a child and me as his oldest grandson, I look back at his life and truly admire him for his role model as the perfect husband and father he was.. he truly set the ideal standard for what a hardworking , responsible and loving spouse , father,  and grandfather should be... I'm gonna miss u grandpa... love Anthony..

Back when me and my brother were in elementary school, grampa would pick us up from school everyday, and occasionally drop us off. Our parents would tell us we couldn’t eat junk food. Grampa knew me and my brother always wanted snacks so he would stop at the gas station everyday after school and get us whatever we wanted! And told us to leave the evidence in his car so we wouldnt get in trouble with our parents lol. And the mornings when he would drop us off, he would take us to go get donuts. He took us so much that the owners of the donut shop still remember grampa to this day!

On our many holidays to Texas visiting Antony and Elsa we were made very welcome by Jesse and Maria to their home, also family celebrations and trips. I know he will be sadly missed. RIP Jesse

Our deepest condolences to the Cisneros family. Refugio and Maria have been our friends.  They and us attended Iglesia Bautista Emanuel and we shared many beautiful moments at church and in their house in Conroe. May God give you peace and strength in this difficult time.

My condolences to all the family. We know that he suffers no more and that he is with our savior, in heaven.

I worked with Refugio in the Woodlands when we worked for Keith Plumbing many years ago. He always had a smile and an infectious laugh. My prayers for the family in this time of mourning. R.I.P.

Remembering lots of laughs together on our RV trip, negotiating the restrooms in the dark, clambering over Jessie and Maria to get there, and all our visits to Texas where many more happy memories were made,  will miss my compadre, love to Maria and all the family, Johnny x

I will always remember the warmth in his eyes and the bright smile he never failed to share whenever he saw me. His joy was genuine and contagious—a reflection of a kind and gentle heart.

Though our hearts are heavy, I find comfort in knowing that Refugio is now in his Heavenly home, embraced by eternal peace, healing and love. As Scripture reminds us:

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
—John 14:2 (KJV)

May God’s promise of eternal life bring peace to all who loved him. Refugio’s memory will continue to shine in our hearts, just as his smile always did in life. His living legacy lives on through us!
