Thank you for always being such a positive influence and a great role model. I remember that you always seemed to be in a good mood with great energy around you at all times. You were always such a gracious host and those casino trips will always be with us! You will be missed dearly by everyone and by the ones lives that you touched.

On behalf of our families, we extend our heartfelt sympathies and prayers to all those who have loved and known Manong Ric. It was only these last few years that I had the privilege to really know him very well. Behind the facade of a patriach, a benefactor to a lot of us, a strong and positive individual, lies a very down to earth, humble, very generous and giving person. He fought the battle of the illness that ultimately took him, but he was a courageous soldier, though at times hesitant, was very clear in his will power to fight and overcome this. He did not lose, for he gained the freedom from pain and the clarity for his purpose in this mortal life.  Kudos especially to Tita Medi and all his children, who stood by him and steadily fought the battle with him. To all those who have come to know him, there will always be good vivid memories of fun times, of his generosity and the camaraderie he always fostered. May your departed soul from this earth find the peace in the arms of the Lord Almighty.

Manong Rick was a well loved and respected big brother to Paul.  Strong between them is the unspoken knowledge that they were there for each other if needed.  I was privileged to have known him and honoured for him to be part of our lives.  It isn't possible to put into words (or not enough) to say what that meant to us.  Thank you for everything!

He died in the bosom of his family and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Some of the fondest memories I have is tagging along with the Poblete family on a number of road trips to Dallas or Glaveston.  They were always such fun trips, and I remember how generous Uncle Ric was with all the children, giving enough money for all of us to enjoy all the rides and games.  
It's nice to know that my parents were able to spend some fun times with Uncle Ric and Auntie Medy in Las Vegas. I know there were many fun memories that were shared.  My parents would tell me how much fun they had whenever they visited. 
His success in life shows in the five wonderful children he had.  I am and have been very impressed with each of them.  God bless Uncle Ric!

Dear Papa,
There is so much I want to say and share.  I could write a novel.  I want to start by saying I miss you so much.  I might be a grown woman, but I always still feel like your little girl.  You have shown and taught me so much.  You and Mom were a power team, and I admired that so much.  You both set the bar through showing/sharing with everyone your unconditional love, generosity, and success.  I am so blessed and honored to be your daughter, and to have shared so many great memories.  Thank you for always believing in me more than I believed in myself at times, and always encouraging me to push harder.  I can hear you now, " You are so smart Lisa, if you want to be the best, you have to master it, and be the best!  Don't talk about it, just do it!  Money, money can always be made, that's peanuts!" :) You and mom have always been my inspiration.  I won't disappoint you!  I know you're watching all of us from up above.  I love and miss you so much Papa!  You will always be in my heart and never forgotten.  I can't wait to see you, and hear your voice one day!

Papa you are my hero! You are the nicest, most generous, most hard-working, fun loving father a daughter could ever have. For all I could remember, you never once told me I couldn't do something, especially when I was in doubt, you would say, “Don't worry you can do it!” especially when I was in nursing school you'd tell me, “I know you'll pass with flying colors! If I needed help or advice especially making big decisions or even little, you always had a solution to every problem, I know you helped guide us kids in any and every way that you possibly could. Thank you so much for that.     
I'll never forget that if I ever asked you for anything you never said no, instead, “Sky's the limit!” and you always wanted us to have everything and the best of the best. I am forever thankful for everything you did for me and our family, and will always remember the life lessons you've taught me. Papa, I love you so much and will miss you dearly, God bless you and may you rest in peace. You will never be forgotten by so many especially me because you are such a special person and father. Dear Kuya Rick, 
    I remember our family reunion in Las Vegas  when you were introducing me as your sister and how special it made me feel. I thank you for your generosity, you bless me and my family. There will always be a special place in my heart for you.

    What always sticks in my mind when I think about Rick is his generosity and his acceptance of me into the family.  For our wedding; he brought his whole family and his in-laws from Texas. I knew that wasn't a cheap endeavor. He then proceeded to give us the biggest wedding gift of anyone at the wedding. When we came out to visit in 1991 for Christina's graduation he drove around with me while he picked up things for the party and I got a chance to get know him a little one on one. He filled me up with one of the biggest fresh lumpia's I ever saw and followed it with a huge halo-halo. Then he couldn't understand why I wasn't hungry at the party! 
    In 2002; we came out to visit and he threw a party at a restaurant for us and I was really blown away as I did not expect it! 
    Last year when we came out; in spite of not feeling well, he made time for us and I am so glad that Matthew and Bethany got to have that time with him. 
    Rick; I will miss you and even though we plan to come out again; it just won't be the same without you there. It really was a privilege knowing you and being a part of your family. I will miss you!

Your generosity and kindness, your spirit and smile, and your love and values shine through in your children.
What beautiful and strong roots you have given your children here in America.
