Stanley Lynn Springer, age 65, beloved husband, father and grandfather died on May 4, 2009 while on a cruise. He was born May 23, 1943 in Ovilla, Tx to Clyde and Mildred Springer. He was a member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church. Stanley graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1961 and was a member of both the baseball and basketball teams. He was also active in FFA where he won the Most Progressive Young Farmer Award and the DeKalb Agricultural Accomplishment Award in recognition for outstanding scholarship, leadership and supervised programs in agriculture. In 1961, he married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara Wray Springer and began working toward his college degree. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A & M University in 1965. After working in sales and customer service for a container company for a few years, Stanley worked for Texas Instruments for 31 1/2 years, retiring in 2001. Stanley couldn't wait until football season began each year. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and rarely missed a Sunday or Monday night game. Since he was a "die-hard" Aggie, no matter where he was, he always made time to watch his fellow Aggies play. Stanley also had another love, cruising; which he would "count down the days" until the next trip. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Barbara, their daughter Cynthia Quillin and her husband Timothy Quillin, and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Jamie Quillin. He is also survived by his sister, Lldalee Mobley and her husband Leon Mobley, and their two sons, Larry Mobley and Steve Mobley and his wife Judy. Many memories and friends were made over his lifetime of square dancing, camping and cruising, and he will be missed by everyone. He now is at rest at the Shiloh Cumberland Cemetery in Ovilla, TX.
