

Born in Stephenville, Texas, on September 12, 1944, Tom was the son of Thomas E. Warren, Jr., and Betty Riggins Warren, both of whom preceded him in death.
He grew up in Virginia and Tennessee, where he developed his soft accent, gentlemanly ways, and love of the outdoors.
Tom graduated from Auburn University with a degree in ornamental horticulture and was president of his fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta.
After graduation he moved to Dallas, Texas. There he co-founded Landscape Design & Construction, met and married his wife, Paula, and their daughter, Claire, was born. For the next 38 years he took them on marvelous adventures to Greece, Austria, Hungary, Turkey, Puerto Rico, and beyond.
In turns Tom was a landscape architect and arborist, an oilman, an entrepreneur, and finally, he retired from Harris County in energy management.
Tom’s last years were made better by the tender and gracious care of Edna Freeman, Tina Marshall, and Kesha Henry, for whom the family is ever grateful.
Tom is survived by his wife, Paula; his daughter, Claire; and his brothers John Warren and Mark Warren.
The memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Drive Lutheran Church, 12211 Memorial Drive, Houston. Memorials can be made to the Houston Area Parkinson’s Society, the Michael J. Fox Foundation, or the Arbor Day Foundation.
