Born in Dallas Texas on May 10, 1963, from two orphaned parents Floyd Forrester ( passed November 24th, 2009) and Mother Barbara Forrester ( will be 90 on January 7th) gave birth to a baby girl 8 lbs. 1 oz at 5:18 pm at St. Paul Hospital. Vickie was the 4th child of 6 children. In order: Floyd Wayne Forrester (passed in 2012), Rhonda Flukinger and Terry Forrester. Then Vickie was followed by Brenda Forrester and April Forrester. Vickie also had two half siblings Tony Forrester and Sonja Forrester.
Vickie spent her younger years in Dallas Texas when they moved to Conroe, Texas so that Barbara could move in with her sister and work in the family cafeteria when her and Floyd took a break in their marriage before they remarried a few years later. Vickie attended school at McCullough High School in the Woodlands which was grades 7-12. This is when Rick Wilson entered her life in late 1978 or early 1979. Rick attended a neighboring Spring High School were their paths crossed at a McDonalds parking lot of all places. He was driving a Fiat X19 where they noticed each other across the parking lot where they began to talk, exchanged numbers and became inseparable. A short 11 or so months later they were married on December 29, 1979 because Vickie got pregnant with twins named Brad and Bryan which were born on April 27, 1980 (you do the math). They were married for almost 44 years. Vickie never completed high school at 16 because she got pregnant but later went back and on April 29, 1982, completed her GED.
They then moved to a apartment complex and quickly realized that wasn’t going to work. For the next 20 plus years they moved and lived in the same neighborhood as her mother in Oak Canyon located in Conroe. Vickie was a stay at home mom for the first few years took small odd and end jobs as a waitress at places like Hydens and Red Lobster. She had her hands full running the boys around different sporting events and staying active being a mom. Vickie completed her associate degree at Harris County Community College and then took a job at Sordex in Conroe as a receptionist then quickly moved into a sales representative position. This position took her all over the world selling Dental Xray equipment which it all ended in late 1996. Vickie and Rick found out they were having another bundle of joy named Hailey which was born on August 10, 1997. She spent the next several years back in her role as a stay at home mom and running Hailey around with Rick back and forth to California as a lineman working and for Hailey’s softball. They soon settled in Montgomery, Texas. By this time the Boys had joined the military, married and had kids of their own. (Grandkids: Caleb, Kiptyn, Eli, Kash and Simon) (Waylon would follow 5 years later after Simon and all boys).
Vickie then became an entrepreneur which was really her passion all along. She had her hands in a little bit of everything. If she wasn’t working on trophies for a lineman rodeo she was working in her shop sewing rugs for the taxidermy that she learned from her mom. This is also where she started to pursue her relationship with Jesus. She completed a 1 or 2 year certificate in Bible Study. This would take her to concerts and speeches with family to learn as much as she could. When she wasn’t working she found time to run the grandkids around or just spend time doing things with them but she was always busy. Vickie was a great wife, mother and grandmother to all boys. She was very passionate about her beliefs and didn’t mind letting you know where she stood. Some people think that she was abrasive but she really cared about the people in her life.
In March 2021 Vickie made her last move into her dream location. In her later years she had a prepping mentality and wanted to move to a property with large acreage to get away from the hustle and bustle. She wanted a pond for fishing, backup generator for unexpected power outages, storage/reserve of food stock and a place for family to comfortable to gather for holidays and special occasions. She soon found she was one family short of having everyone back together living on the same piece of property. Which was believed to be her ultimate dream.
On Memorial Day weekend it was unknown to everyone after a trip to Florida to spend some vacation time, Vickie became sick with an illness that quickly devastated us all. Her and the family soon realized this was a very serious diagnosis. The cause of all her pain was cancer. She found out just weeks after her 60th birthday on May 28 2023. She said it felt like something had taken over her whole body and she knew it wasn’t good but hoped for the best. After 6 months of battling cancer that seemed forever in her shoes flew by for the family and friends that knew and loved her. Vickie passed on November 26, 2023. She never once complained and asked the Lord why me or complained about her illness. She was surrounded by family and friends who love her very much.
