Bill was born in Wilkinsburg, PA, His family lived between Houston, Pennsylvania and Maryland. He attended High Point University graduating with a degree in Business Administration and Economics. He returned to Houston in 1978 and began his life long career in the oilfield industry. First as a manufacturer’s representative for Tri International, serving as Vice President for Prodrill Supply Company and eventually starting his own company, Energy Resources and Supply, which he operated for over 30 years.
Bill lived in and around the Houston area for the last 40 years. He met Caryn and they married in 1986. They were blessed with their two beautiful children. They made many good friends throughout their life together. Bill remained closely connected to many of his friends from his childhood, high school and college years. His smile, humor, love of life, hobbies and interests gave great opportunity to make friends easily, many of whom are here today.
Bill had a beautiful passion for life. He was an avid golfer, whether playing or watching. If there wasn’t a football game on Sunday afternoons, he was watching the golf pros on TV. He organized numerous trips with his buddies to experience worldly golf courses. He loved his salt water and fly fishing adventures and quality time spent with “The Boys”. He loved to ski, snowboard, kayak and take long walks with Caryn. Family travels and vacations were often and abundant.
Bill was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. The love for his family radiated in everything he did. Bill spent many hours mentoring, guiding, and advising his children, sharing his humor, lending an ear and offering his warm hugs. He was attentive and kind to everyone he met. He deeply loved his family, friends and clients and you knew it. He had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the world when you were with him. We will forever be reminded of his kindness, gentle spirit and love not only through our memories, but also those shared by family and friends of their time spent with Bill. He provided for so many people through the years, often using his own hands, time, energy and resources to give comfort to friends in need and those less fortunate. He helped build a children’s playground at the church, supported Make-a-Wish Foundation and most recently, 3000 Miles to a Cure.

Bill was a doting and loving grandfather. Jordan was born an hour after we were told of Bill’s cancer diagnosis. God is so Good! He gave Bill a short but priceless amount of time to share his love with Jordan. Now, it is up to us to carry on that love by sharing pictures, stories and our memories.
To know Bill was to love Bill. From all of the Haley Family, Thank You, for being here with us today as we all search for peace with his passing and to celebrate his life. You all are very much a part of who he was and the life that he lived.
Proverbs 18:24
