Mrs. Arlene Lambeth Stokes, 95, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at the Mt. Vista Health Park with her family by her side.
Mrs. Stokes was born in Davidson County, January 30, 1925, a daughter of the late Samuel Edward Lambeth and Martha Sirona Small Lambeth. She owned and operated Stokes Florist for 45 years. Arlene enjoyed Sunday dinners with her family, cooking, traveling and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John C. Smith and Raymond Stokes; two sisters, Gladys Green and Jean Harris and two brothers, Edgar and Ray Lambeth. Arlene was a member of Silver Valley Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Johnnie Alaniz; a sister, Evelyne "Dee" Myers; two granddaughters who she raised as her own, Christina Shoaf and Sylvia Deaton, also two granddaughters, Jody Brown and Sherry Swing; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Whisenant and her husband Chris, Jordan Deaton, Austin Shoaf and Randy Harris. Arlene also had several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Alene's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Silver Valley Baptist Church by Rev. William Allison and Rev. Gene Little. The family will receive friends following the service.
