Barbara Jean Sink Summit, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Hinkle Hospice House following a brief illness.
Barbara was born in Davidson County, March 28, 1933, a daughter of the late Melvin and Lois Batten Sink. She loved traveling, especially to the beach with her family. Barbara enjoyed hosting family gathering during the holidays. Her favorite pastimes were playing solitaire with actual cards and watching cooking shows. Barbara was a faithful member of Tabernacle Church of Trinity as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Floyd Summit; a sister, Fairy Etta (Pat) Beck; a brother, Thomas Sink and two son in laws, Ron Gearren and Doug Price.
Surviving are two daughters, Shela Gearren and Donna Price; a sister, Sandra Lyon; three grandchildren, Chris Gearren (Nicole), Michael Gearren (Kelly) and Kevin Price (Amanda); five great-grandchildren, Owen, Drew, Grier, Briella and Kaylee; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville, NC by Pastor Lynn Chaney. Family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Memorials may be directed to Tabernacle Church of Trinity, 213 Tabernacle Church Rd.
