Trinity- Bettie Lois Blair Fisher, 79, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Piedmont Christian Home.
She was born on May 16, 1939 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Cecil and Gussie Blair. She grew up in WV, the oldest of 14 children. She married James (Jim) Fisher on March 25, 1960. Bettie raised 5 kids while Jim proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. Bettie was predeceased by her parents, husband James (Jim) Fisher, son James (Jimmy) Fisher, grandson Adam Fisher, and several brothers and sisters.

Bettie loved family. Her happiest moments were when her family was gathered, and a baby was in her arms. She enjoyed preparing large meals, welcoming everyone who passed through her door and always making room at her table for more. She loved well and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Our family would especially like to thank Piedmont Christian Home and Hospice of the Piedmont for their loving care of our mom in her last months of life.

So sorry for the late condolences as Ive just seen her obituary.
Bettie was a truly great lady with the biggest heart, full of compassion for everyone she met. She was my second mother for many years while I was part of their family and I will always be grateful for her loving ways and for the help she wanted to give but couldn't for many reasons. I loved her very much, she will always hold a special place in my heart.

Mamaw always called me her angel. Her house was THE place to go. I was always so excited to go to Mamaw's house, I knew the food would be amazing, but I also knew she would be waiting outside the car door before I could even get out. And when we were leaving to go back home, she would stand outside and wave until we couldn't see her. Mamaw's house was the place we all gathered. She'd take in anyone so a lot of holidays there would be people I didn't even recognize but it didn't matter because we were all just so happy to be together. For Christmas, we would all gather in the bonus room and close the door and wait for Santa to come. We would here bells and big stomps as Santa went through the house to deliver our presents. These are the memories I want to hold on to because once my uncle passed away things changed. The holidays that used to have the house completely full were a little less attended. There were less games and fun and more seriousness and family tension. Mamaw held on to her sweet gentle self all the way until the end. She was a constant in a house full of uncertainty. She was a rock that anyone could count on, no matter what they were going through, no matter how many times they messed up. We are all going to miss her so much, but we are so thankful she is in a place of eternal joy and peace.

When I came into the family, Bettie welcomed me with open arms. Not only did she love me, but she loved my children as well. She was a very special person and family meant everything to her. The world has lost a great lady.

I remember her coming to Jimmy's ....we were all going out for lunch....
Oh my gosh....Jimmy wasn't ready ...SHE WAS..😄.
By the time he got into the car she was livid... ( they had been bickering the entire time) Jimmy just annoyed her on purpose! 😉 He was really READY TO GO WHEN SHE GOT THERE!!!
Needless to say I didn't say A WORD!!... 🤔. .. She was a WONDERFUL WOMAN.....whom I loved , was very proud to know and be a part of her life.
The only time she ever snapped at me is when I went running down the ramp inside the house. The last time i seen her. She said .."MO.!!! YOUR GOING TO BREAK YOUR NECK ...!!! THEN WHAT YOU GOING TO DO!!!! ".
There is ALOT MORE...but I was will hold her in my heart FOREVER.. a spectacular woman to raise the most AWESOME PEOPLE IVE EVER BEEN PRIVILEGED TO HAVE IN MY LIFE.

Bettie was a strong woman & Mom raising her 4 boys Steve, Jimmy, Mike, & Joey and #5 curly red haired girl, Katrina, my childhood friend. Bettie was very hard working and took care of her home & family while their father, Jim was serving this Great Nation in the US Army. I have many memories of spending time at the Fisher house in Kentucky & Bettie always welcomed me into their home with love. Bettie on many occasions since my Mom didn’t drive; she would pick me up and take me and Katrina shopping or drop us off at church or one of our other favorite spots, the skating ring. I have fond memories of the trip Bettie allowed me to go on with her & Katrina to West Virginia to visit where she grew up & her family; what a fun time & beautiful state. Bettie is an example of a life well lived! Always remember even though Bettie has left this earth, she will live on in our hearts & memories. I am sorry for your loss and grief. I am keeping the whole family close in Prayers for God’s Peace.
My sincere condolences, Mary

I am so grateful for these last precious months shared with mom. I'll never forget the laughter we shared, the serious heart-felt discussions we had, our walks and talks in the garden and time spent together sitting outside. The love and appreciation she poured out have filled my heart to overflowing and will be treasured all of my days.
I've never known someone stronger than my mom. She held our family together in a way that is quite remarkable. She never met a stranger and chose to show care and concern for everyone who walked through her door. She loved to cook and would make sure you were more than full before you left. A favorite was her baked spaghetti.
I can only hope to impact as many people in my lifetime as my mom did in hers. She truly loved well. I can only imagine her welcome Home by my dad, brother, nephew and other family. I have no doubt that Jesus told her, "well done my good and faithful servant!"
While I'm happy that she's dancing with Jesus, no longer shackled to her earthly failing vessel, I'm heartbroken as one left here to figure out how to live life without her.
I love you mom! Thank you for your incredible example of giving so much of yourself to so many. I know when my time comes, you'll be first in line to greet me.
