Mrs. Betty Jo Floyd Brooks, 88, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday January 7, 2026, at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. She was born June 21, 1937, in Davidson County, the daughter of Walter Miles and Bertha Mae Hunt Floyd.
Betty Jo was a faithful and active member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She was married to Clarence William Brooks who preceded her in death on May 11, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Elise F. Cecil, Sally F. Rorex and a brother, Doug Floyd.
Surviving is her daughter, Cynthia Jo Brooks Blackburn and husband Clyde of Thomasville; sons, Danny Brooks and wife Lorie of Thomasville, Gregg Brooks of Thomasville; grandchildren, Jessica Miles and husband Kevin, Wesley Blackburn, Dustin Brooks, Bryan Blackburn and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Tanner Blackburn and Scotlyn Darnell; and brother, Pete Floyd of Thomasville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday January 11, 2026, at the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville conducted by the Pastor David Bowman. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until service time and other times at Betty's home.
