Bud was born in Davidson County, December 3, 1927, a son of the late John and Lula Alice Embler Loftin. He served in the US Army during W.W. II. Bud worked for Tomlinson Furniture for several years and retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries. He was a faithful and active member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church. Bud loved his family, gardening and his church family.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Betty Brewer Loftin; a daughter, Martha Loftin; a son, Marion Lynn Loftin and wife Jeannie; a sister, Myrtle Arlene Leonard and two grandsons, Truman Barker and Robert Loftin.
A Celebration of Bud’s life will be held Friday, March 20, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the Thomasville Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tim Landreth and Rev. Bynum Orr. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Carolina Memorial Baptist Church.
