Clarice was born in Thomasville, June 3, 1922, a daughter of the late Vester G. Davis and Ethel Workman Davis. She lived most of her life in Thomasville, graduating from Thomasville High School in 1939. In 1941, she married Douglas A. Lopp, who preceded her in death in 2008. Two children were born to them, Sherry Dawn Lopp and Richard Douglas Lopp, both of whom preceded her in death as well as a grandson, Doug Clodfelter.
Clarice worked for many years at Hudson-Belk. She also worked several years at the Davidson County Tax Office in Lexington. She was a true Republican and worked for 16 years in the fifth voting precinct. Clarice often told people what they missed by not living during the “greatest generation” in history. She loved flowers, especially growing them and sharing bulbs and cuttings. One of her greatest joys was working with God in His outdoors. Clarice served on the First Beautification Committee in Thomasville and was a member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years.
The joy of Clarice’s life was her surviving grandchildren, Kim Mangum, Lori Larrabee and husband Bob, and Lisa Dawn Lopp; great-grandchildren, Erin and Haley Mangum, and Ryan, Davis and Reagan Larrabee.
A Celebration of Clarice’s life will be private. Memorials may be directed to Transitions Life Care
