

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Walker Jarrett of Trinity passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at High Point Regional Health System.
Dorothy was born in Davidson Country on October 27, 1926, to Laurie Early and Florence Brown Westmoreland Walker. She had lived in Trinity most of her life. She was the loving wife of Guy Thomas Jarrett who preceded her in death in December 2013. Guy and Dorothy were married on August 29, 1944, and shared 69 years together. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings, Mildred Wright, Lucille Dennis, Ruth Lankford, and Ernest Walker.
Dorothy worked for many years at Wrenn Manufacturing. She later worked for K-Mart until her retirement. After retirement, she worked for a time at Flowers by Neil. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Trinity and was a member of the Senior Adult Bible Class. For many years, she and Guy served a Communion Stewards.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patsy Jarrett Grooms and husband Joe of Lexington; grandson, Joe Grooms and wife Katherine of Lexington; great-grandchildren Brandi, Elizabeth, and Alisha Grooms of Lexington. Special niece/daughter, Sarah Bailey and husband Clyde of Thomasville who were loving and devoted caregivers; special friends and neighbors Pete and Polly Newton; and special friend and caregiver, Rosie Sink. She is also survived by a special cousin, who was like a brother, Walter Walker and wife Katherine of Mt. Airy, several nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear to her.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4, at 4pm at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville,by the Reverend Ken Spencer and Reverend Ashley Cyre. Visitation will be at Thomasville Funeral Home on Saturday October 3 from 6 until 8 pm and at other times at the home. Due to expected inclement weather, interment will be at 2 pm on Tuesday, October 6 at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Hopewell United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Polly Newton, 7477 Welborn Road, Trinity, 27370 or to Victory Junction Gang, 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
The family would like to thank the special people at Westchester Manor for their care of Dorothy as well as the caring and compassionate people in the High Point Regional ICU Unit.
Dorothy was a loving, caring person who was loved by all. She will be missed by all who knew her.
