Ellen Louise Mankin Hooks

Mrs. Hooks was born on September 2, 1934 in Columbiana County, Ohio to the late Russell and Dorothy Hagerty Mankin. She was a meticulous homemaker who enjoyed the beauty in decorating and entertaining, especially hosting tea parties.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hooks was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Hartley and granddaughter, Jeanette Miller.

She is survived by her husband, Herb Hooks of the home; daughter, Rebecca Miller and husband Steve of Franklin, Ohio and their children, Andrew and Aaron Miller; son-in-law, Bruce Edward Hartley, Sr. and wife Cindy of Lexington and their children, Jackie Beard, Bruce Edward Hartley, Jr., Audrey Hartley, Anthony Wilson, and Ashley Wilson. Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Tyler Beard, Bristia Hartley, Steven Miller, Maria Miller, Tiffany Floyd, and Anthony Floyd; sister, Barbara Douglas; and brother, William Mankin.

A celebration of Mrs. Hook’s life will be held at 3 pm Sunday in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street. Burial will follow in the Faith Community Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
