James Christopher Lingerfelt

Chris was born on March 15, 1926, to the late James and Katie Lingerfelt. He graduated from UNC Carolina and was a huge Tarheel fan. His passion for education and sports was evident throughout his life.

He served many years in the US Air Force. During World War II, Chris served in the Army Air Corps, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to his country. His service was a testament to his bravery and patriotism.

In his personal time, Chris enjoyed playing golf, a hobby that brought him much joy and relaxation. His love for the game was well-known among his friends and family.

Chris was deeply involved in his community and a member of Faith's Journey Church, serving as a deacon, treasurer, trustee, and holding other positions for multiple churches in the area. His contributions and leadership were invaluable and left a lasting impact on those around him.

A visitation will be held at Sechrest-Davis Funerals & Cremations, located at 18 Randolph St, Thomasville, NC, on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Burke Memorial Park, 2506 Burke Memorial Park Rd, Morganton, NC.
