Jimmy Ray Lewis, Sr., 52, died June 5, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Jimmy was born on December 13, 1962 in McDowell County to Joseph Millard and Ruth Ann Raines Lewis. He had worked as a carpenter for many years and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Millard Lewis and his sister, Donna Sue.
Surviving are his sons, Jonathan Lewis (Lindsey), Jimmy Ray Lewis II, Christopher Clark (Marion), and Jonathan Holt; his mother, Ruth Ann Raines Lewis of Lexington; sister, Lois Dyer; brothers, William Dale Lewis, Roy Arnold Lewis (Teresa), and Frank James Lewis (Tammy); and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be 6 pm Thursday, June 11th in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street with Rev. Daniel Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Friday June 12th at Laurel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 1759 Tater Town Loop, Nebo, North Carolina 28761.
