Jimmy David Woody

A resident of this area all of his life, Jimmy was born on May 2, 1954 in Davidson County to the late Clanton David Woody and Nellie Tuttle Hughes Woody Kennedy. Jimmy was the true meaning of a “working man” and had worked as a carpenter most of his life. He especially enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with his family, and loved children and animals. Jimmy also attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Thomasville.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Varner Woody of the home; son, Clinton Woody and his wife Ashley of Silver Valley; sister, Darlene Woody Holliday of Greenville, SC; and brothers, Gary Hughes of Silver Valley, Barry Hughes and his wife Kathie of Silver Valley, and Michael Woody and his wife Vickie of Denton. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be 12 pm Saturday, November 1st at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 7987 S NC Hwy 109, Thomasville, with Rev. Jack Hurley officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday, October 31st at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, and other times at the home of his mother-in-law at 119 Lovette Road, Thomasville.
