Tony Ray Gobble, 50 passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 following an illness.
Tony Ray was born in High Point, April 26, 1970, a son of Kenneth (Cooter) Gobble and Linda Gilmore Gobble. He was a life long resident of Thomasville and was employed by Akzo Nobel for 28 years. Tony Ray loved music, the beach, mountains, fishing, his Harley Davidson, Carolina Tar Heels and Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a love for children and spent many years coaching t-ball, baseball, basketball and soccer at Fair Grove Elementary. Tony Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Gilmore Matney.
Surviving are his wife and soulmate of 35 years, Candace Black Gobble; two sons, Dustin Gobble and Jordan Gobble, wife Leah; his father, Cooter Gobble, wife Rena; two sisters, Kenda Somero, husband Michael and Chelsea Wilson, husband Dee; loving Poppy to five grandchildren, Riley, Raegan, Zebulon, Kyla and Axel; mother in law, Susan Black Richardson and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Tony Ray's life will be held Friday, September 25 from 6 until 8 at the Thomasville Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Baptist Children's Homes of NC, 204 Idol St., Thomasville, NC 27360 or any children's organization of the donor's choice.
