William Robert "Jack or Bill" Boles, age 92, went to be with his beloved wife on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
Pop was born in Davidson County, May 7, 1931, a son of the late John and Lula Sechrist Boles. He was a skilled furniture craftsman with a life time spent in the furniture industry. Pop was preceded in death by his wife of seventy years, Margaret Kirby Boles; a sister, Hazel Bowles and a brother, Bobby Boles. He was a lifelong member of the former Uwharrie Baptist Church where he served as choir director, deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Pop delivered for Thomasville Meals on Wheels until he was 90 years young. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to mow the farm and hunt and fish.
Surviving are three sons, Jerry Boles and spouse Annette, Tommy Boles and spouse Terri and Ronnie Boles and spouse Jan; a daughter, Tammy Melton and spouse Don; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson (with two more on the way) and his dear friends from the breakfast group, Jason Gibson, Mike Hussey, Rodney Decker, David Miller, Roy Lane, Wayne Conrad, Boogie Hicks, Jimmy Davis and numerous other friends.
A Celebration of Pop's will be Wednesday, January 3 at Sechrest-Davis Funeral Service in Thomasville with Pastor Terry Boles officiating at 11am. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 a.m. until the service.
