Passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the age of 78. Loving husband of Julia. Devoted father of Manny (predeceased), Julia and Joseph and cherished grandfather. Afonso will be fondly remembered and missed by his many family and friends. He forged a path for his family in his adopted country of Canada, a business man with a heart, an optimism and enduring entrepreneurial spirit second to none. A man who courageously lived and loved life through good times and life's tragedies. He will missed by us all. Friends may call on Monday, February 11, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Aiden's Roman Catholic Church (3501 Finch Avenue East). Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
