Al Albert Houston

Al passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, June 11th. Beloved husband to Joy, cherished father/in law to Dave (Cheryl) and Nathalie (Harlen), loving grandfather to Aaron, Brendan, Kyra, Jayda and Colin, and caring brother to Dave. He was predeceased by his first wife Yvonne, and his two brothers, Hector and Eric. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, sister / brother in laws.

Born in Inverurie, Scotland, Al immigrated to Canada when he was a teenager and spent many years in both Toronto and Montreal, building close friendships along the way through his work, his passion for golf and his broad social network. More recently, in Keswick, he was fortunate to grow his circle of friends through his and Joy’s socially active life.

He will always be remembered as a generous soul that gave of his time and energy to friends and family.

A special thanks to the team of nurses at Southlake Hospital who were unending in their support and compassion for Al and the family.

In lieu of flowers, we would ask that anyone wishing to make a donation, please do so to the Canadian Cancer Society at cancer.ca. The family will receive friends at the Jerrett Life Celebration Centre, 8088 Yonge Street (just south of hwy 407) June 21st from 6-8PM.

As was Al’s preference, in lieu of a funeral, we will be holding a Celebration of Life ceremony for his family and close friends on Thursday June 22 from 11:30-2:00 at Carrying Place Golf and Country Club, 16750 Weston Road, Aurora.
