It is with deep sadness and enduring love that we announce the passing of Alex Macris. A devoted husband to Linda, proud father of Brendan and Lauren, beloved son of Penny and the late Tom Macris, cherished son-in-law of Pat and Roland Ridler, loving brother of Barbara and Helen, brother-in-law of Eric, Travis, Cameron and Scott and adored uncle of Andrew, Mark Isabella, Tom, Gwyneth, Victoria, William and Matthew.
Alex lived a life filled with generosity, laughter, and purpose. For over 30 years, he was a dedicated teacher with the York Region District School Board, guiding and inspiring generations of students. His patience, wit, and genuine care for others left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A man of many passions, Alex found joy on the tennis court, in a friendly game of pickleball, out on the water fishing, kayaking on a peaceful morning, or exploring new travel destinations. Proud of his Greek heritage, he embraced life with warmth, hospitality, and a deep appreciation for family and tradition. His hands were skilled, his mind curious, and his heart endlessly kind.
To everyone who knew him, Alex was a source of strength, friendship, and light. The most thoughtful of souls, always ready with a helping hand and a smile. His legacy of love and goodness will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
May his memory be eternal.
