You had a very kind heart and a generous spirit… you are  missed today and always💕

My mother Tsan-Tzu Lee doesn't use her computer much anymore, so I'm writing on her behalf.  She wanted to write that Ms Niddrie literally stood tall in the face of adversity and cheered everyone up at the old Forest Grove United Church, making the best of even the worst of times.  Ms Niddrie will be sorely missed.

I am fortunate enough to have known Betty  and she will continue to inspire and uplift me. She exemplified values of optimism, kindness, compassion , and vibrancy that are worthy of emulation. Thank you for the good memories I spent with you  during Mother’s Day for three consecutive years. You filled the emptiness in my heart, being thousands of miles away from my own Mom. Though you are no longer with us  the impact you had on all who knew you will live on and will never fade.

I love my Gran very much and will always cherish the special bond we shared. Her laugh and kind nature brought warmth to everyone around her. One of my greatest joys was exchanging letters with her; it was always a highlight to open my mailbox and find a note from Gran, filled with her love and thoughtfulness. I will miss her more than words can express, but I am deeply grateful for her long and beautiful life and for the precious time I had with her. Her memory will forever hold a special place in my heart.

since I won't be speaking at the funeral I wanted to make my comments here after reading all of yours my mother was special she's the best mother anybody could've had she was so positive that it was contagious she loved gardening cooking baking and her cottage in Halliburton where we spent every summer her political views always encouraged a good discussions if only she could be here right now to have this discussion I'd really like to hear what she had to say .family meant everything to her .she had lost all her close friends and her brother and sister .
surviving them all . which definitely made her sad.she could name all the birds and all the flowers she loved-nature and enjoyed sitting on our deck watching them all.she will be so missed but in our hearts forever..

It's hard to put into words how I feel about this incredible woman. 
I have the greatest love and respect for her.  I loved how she always found something positive to say. I loved the stories she told about her interesting life. I loved the recipes she was happy to share. I loved the many summers together at the cottage playing slang teasers. It was a safe place where we shared our lives with one another. I loved her capacity to care deeply for her friends and family. Lynne and Stephen were her pride and joy and the love of her life and it was mutual.

Although we need to go on without her we will carry in our hearts her memory and all that she shared.

My aunt was an elegant lovely woman who was an inspiration to us all. We will sorely miss her.

There are so many memories to share about Betty. She was the most elegant woman that I had ever met with an incredible fashion style. She was always in the know as to world events. There wasn’t a topic that you couldn’t have an in depth conversation about with her. We had decades of incredible memories at the cottage, a place that she loved so very much. It was a home away from home where she spent hours gardening, and planting some of the most beautiful flowers that were admired by cottages passing by in their canoes. I loved listening to stories about when she was a little girl that were told with such clarity. She definitely held an audience and it was always welcomed to hear about events she remembered through her long life.

Though words can never fully capture the depth of our loss, we find comfort in the beautiful life Betty lived. Our beloved Betty, who graced us with over 105 years of wisdom, kindness, and love, leaves behind a legacy that will forever resonate in our hearts.

Her laughter, her stories, her warmth, and her strength are gifts we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. She was a woman who touched so many lives—through her quiet grace, her unwavering love for family, and her ability to make each moment feel significant. Her long life was a testament to resilience, love, and the beauty of a life well-lived.

We are grateful for every memory we shared with her.

A memorable lunch with Aunt Betty in April 2023

What I loved the most about my mom was her beautiful smile. Mom was generous, loyal, and funny. My mom will be truly missed by all those who knew her.

One of my fondest memories is how Mom loved my daughter Corinne so very much. They had a special bond that only a grandmother and granddaughter could have. For that, I am truly 
thankful and blessed.

We sincerely miss Betty who was a dear friend and staunch supporter of Forest Grove United Church . She was always an Elegant lady with a sharp mind and sound opinions . She enriched us with her extensive life experience and was generous with passing on her wisdom .  We will deeply miss her . Mag. And Liz .

I knew Betty from Forest Grove, United Church.  

Betty lit the room up when she entered.  She was always dressed to perfection and welcomed everyone with such a warm smile..

I admired her outlook in life and wonderful sense of humour.  She told me the story about bringing in some of her favourite foods from Florida, and when the customs man told her they were not allowed  She politely said you would deny this 96 year-old her favourite things?

He said if she could prove she was 96 she could bring them in.  Of course he let her enter.

No one could believe her age and energy

She was tall and straight.with a bright smile. She likes reading. She was my role model. I miss her so much. May she be happy in God's paradise.

There are so many things I treasure about my relationship with Betty over the last 16 years. Her humor, intelligence, kindness and wisdom are only a few of the characteristics that come to mind. She was fun loving and a wonderful host. She had a generous spirit. Betty was a special friend to my family and subsequently to me. She will be missed and always remembered.

We have had so many wonderful chats with Betty over the years.  It was always a pleasure to see her and spend time talking. Betty was a wealth of information.   Whether it was chatting about birds, gardening, or sports, Betty was knowledgeable and well-versed and enjoyed so many interests. 
Betty lived a long and full life but we are heartbroken for you and your family and all who knew this beautiful soul.
