I had just returned from a cruise when I received an email about Cathy and had called an old Telecom coworker (from Miami) right away to find out what had happened. I was so shocked to find out what happened to such a wonderful, caring person. I wish I could have been here to say goodbye to her. I wanted to extend my deepest sympathies to you. I did contract work at RBC and had the good fortune of meeting Cathy while working there. I will always remember her as one of the most personable individual that I have ever met. One could not help but love her. Her candidness, her wonderful sense of humour, her contagious laugh, her leadership she was a wonderful person whom I admired. I sent her an email when my contract wrapped up, and in it I wrote that I had only wished that I had worked for her, and shared with her how blessed I felt I had been to have made her acquaintance. She was a wonderful woman, and my heart goes out to you both. Cathy brought in some goodies to the office one Christmas luncheon, and I loved them and she mentioned that her daughter had made the squares, you were kind enough to write out the recipe and Cathy brought it in for me. I will treasure the recipe always, it will be a gentle reminder to me. Although she was a very private person, the few times I heard her speak about her husband and her daughter, she spoke so with smiling eyes, it was very obvious to me that she treasured you both. I was shocked and saddened to hear about Cathy. It is all our loss as she was such a terrific lady. Cathy never shied away from helping when you called for a favour or for assistance. Cathy was the first person i met when i joined RBC 10 years ago. I'll always remember her radio blaring (on Q107 which i thought was so cool) and ability to work through the noise. She really made coming to work in those early days so much fun. I will miss seeing her smiling face.

I had the pleasure and priviledge of working with Cathy when I first went to Treasury with RBC. Her boss at the time dubbed us Thelma and Louise. She was a great friend to me and we shared loving stories about my children and her Chrissy. Cathy and Rick also shared our wedding day with us. She was a truly amazing friend and woman. My pet name for her was Action Jackson because she was always on the move getting many things accomplished at once and always with a smile.
