It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of Clare Brenton Baker on August 10, 2010 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Emmaleen and loving father of John, Stephen(Marie) and Edward(Karen). Cherished grandfather of Emmaleen, Charlotte and Victoria Baker. He was happy in his career as the pioneer cardiac surgeon at St. Michael's Hospital. He was honoured to be given the Order of Canada and was chosen as one of the 100 Alumni of Influence at the University of Saskatchewan. "He was given a talent and used it well." Friends may call on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A private family service will be held followed by an Interment at Christ Church Cemetery, Nanticoke, Ontario.
