David Albert Greene

Suddenly at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital after a very brief battle with cancer, on Friday March 7, 2008 at the age of 70. Beloved and devoted husband of Joan (nee MacDonald) and loving father of Stephen and Joy of Aurora and Glenn and Mary Lou of Ramara. Cherished grandfather of Mitchell, Mallory, Gibson, Evyn and Rachel. Dear son of Margaret and the late Albert. Brother of Judy and Michael. Special brother-in-law of Mervin and Pat MacDonald of Bracebridge, Merle (predeceased) and Andrea and Walter Bunn of Orillia. He will be missed by many special nieces and nephews, fishing, golf, snowmobiling and boating buddies and many other special friends as well as his faithful companions, Hagis and Blacky. Dave enjoyed his retirement volunteering with Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Meals on Wheels. As per Dave's wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Saturday March 22, 2008 at Couchiching Golf and Country Club (370 Peter Street North, Orillia, Ontario) from 2 - 6 PM. A short service will take place at 3:00 PM. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Orillia SPCA.
