It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Elnor peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday January 23, 2023 at Richmond Hill, Ontario at the age of 89.
Loving mother of Beth (Sam). Proud Grandma of Jenny (John) and Katie (Spencer) and Great Grandma to Luca and Christian.
Beloved sister to Janet (Jack), predeceased by her sister Rosemary. Cherished Aunt and Great Aunt “Dodo” to Cindy, Rob (Karyn) and Madelyn.
She will be held dear in the hearts of her family, relatives and friends. Donna’s St. Mary’s Anglican Church family was an important part of her life. She contributed to church life over the years through leading bible studies, as a long standing member of the prayer support group and attended monthly church luncheons with her sister Janet. She was also a member of the Project Linus knitting group at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church knitting blankets for hospitals and seniors groups.
Visitation will take place at the Kane-Jerrett funeral home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
A Celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 11am at St. Mary’s Anglican church , 10030 Yonge St, Richmond hill. Following the service in the main church friends and family are welcome to stay for a reception in the old church chapel
In lieu of flowers the family invites you to consider donations to Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill, St. Mary’s Anglican Church heritage fund or to a charity of your choice in Donna’s memory.
Private family interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, North York.
